Three members of family die after entering sea near Shoreham-by-Sea, police say
Emergency services recovered four people from the sea near Shoreham-by-Sea on 18–19 August 2026; police say three members of the same family were later pronounced dead and a younger girl was taken to hospital in critical condition. Police described the deaths as a "tragic accident" in early investigations, and some reports say the family were described by the Palestinian embassy as Palestinian‑British and originally from the Rashidieh camp in southern Lebanon.
